## Figma expands MCP support
At its first Config conference in India, Figma announced twenty new model context protocol partners including ClickUp, Linear, Notion, Mistral and others.
## Field questions Anthropic's approach
Dylan Field, Figma co-founder, criticised Anthropic for not exposing its own resources via MCP, calling this asymmetric context sharing that the debate ignores.

> I find it interesting that Anthropic do not expose artifacts / other cloud resources created via MCP.
## MCP is imperfect, Field says
Field told media that while Figma wants to be open, MCP is not a perfect protocol and has tons of room for improvement.

> MCP is not a perfect protocol. And I think that it is something that has tons of room for improvement.
## Protocol favours frontier labs
Field explained that MCP is advantaged more to frontier labs, though he understands users want a protocol to access their Figma data.
## Figma limits data exposure
Figma's CEO said the company doesn't want to be fully open because exposing more data through MCP increases the chance of abuse.
## Balancing openness and safety
While most users don't intend malicious use, Figma still has to think about potential risks when deciding what data to expose through MCP.
## Key takeaway

Figma co-founder Dylan Field criticises the MCP protocol as imperfect while the company adds twenty new partners supporting the open source standard.
