## Google launches branded laptops
Five companies are making the first Googlebooks: Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. They're available for preorder now and arrive in stores on October 4th.
## Pricing and bundled perks
Googlebooks cost $899 to $1,299, matching MacBook Air and Windows laptop prices. Every model includes 12 months of Google AI Pro with 5TB storage, plus trials of YouTube Premium, Adobe Photoshop, and CapCut.
## Acer's convertible 2-in-1 model
The Acer Googlebook 14 is the only convertible in the lineup, with a 14-inch OLED display and up to 16 hours of battery life. It starts at $899 but Acer says that's a limited-time launch price.

## Asus brings the lightest option
The Asus Googlebook 14 weighs just 2.2 pounds and includes more ports than most competitors, including HDMI. It starts at $1,299 and can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM.
## Dell's ultra-thin XPS variant
Dell's XPS Googlebook is the thinnest at 12.7mm and uses a Snapdragon X Elite processor. It starts at $999 through Best Buy but has minimal ports with only two USB-C connections.
## HP and Lenovo round out the lineup
HP's Googlebook 14 includes both facial recognition and fingerprint reader, plus up to 1TB storage. Lenovo's 15-inch model is the largest and comes with an AI mouse featuring a matching glowbar.
## Ten years of software updates
Google is promising up to 10 years of updates for all Googlebooks, a major commitment that sets them apart from most Windows and Mac laptops.
## Key takeaway

Google is entering the laptop market with five partner models priced between $899 and $1,299, all bundled with AI features and a decade of updates.
