## Garmin keeps winning the tests
Men's Health puts a lot of trackers through trials, and Garmin is the one that keeps coming out on top for outdoor use.

> one has regularly stood out in our trials, Garmin
## Built for rough workouts
An Apple Watch or a basic Fitbit handles the basics fine. Hiking, rock climbing, and trail running are where Garmin pulls ahead.

> we prefer Garmin watches for more adventurous workouts
## The price problem, solved
Garmin costs more than the competition, which puts it out of reach for a lot of people. Right now editor-tested models are up to 52 percent off on Amazon.

> Garmin's watches do tend to run you a bit more, but you get what you pay for.
## The biggest single cut
The Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition drops from $1,000 to $580, a 42 percent cut and the steepest discount on the list.
## Fenix for solar battery life
The Fenix 7X Pro Solar falls from $900 to $647, over $250 off. The rugged 7X Pro Sapphire Solar is $719, down from $1,000.

> such as the Fēnix 7X Pro Solar, which is over $250 off
## Cheaper ways in
The Forerunner 165 is $199, down from $250, and it's the pick for beginners. The lightweight Forerunner 265S is $350, and the easy-to-use Venu 3S is $288.
## Skip the new model
Older Garmins are deeply discounted and test close to the current generation. The Fenix 8 Pro is only 19 percent off at $1,050.

## Key takeaway

If you hike, climb, or trail run, this is the window to buy a Garmin, and the older Pro models are the best value on the list.
