## Drive is a mess
Most heavy Google Drive users end up with thousands of stray documents and photos, and Drive's web search has never been good at finding or moving them.
## Meet Organize My Files
Google started testing the feature last fall and rolled it out to Workspace users in June. Gemini scans your folder structure and suggests where loose files should go.

## You have to pay
It needs a Google AI Pro or AI Ultra subscription. Pro runs $20 a month and bundles 5TB of storage plus YouTube Premium Lite, so it is not the worst add-on for heavy Drive users.
## Private folders only
Business, Enterprise and Education accounts get it too, but you cannot sort personal files with a work account, and shared team folders are off limits entirely.
## Flip on smart features
You also need Workspace smart features enabled. Check in Gmail under the cog icon, See all settings, then General, then Manage Workspace smart feature settings.
## It reads names, not files
Open My Drive, click Suggest file moves, then approve each change with a checkbox. Gemini won't rename anything and doesn't read document contents, so untitled files stay stranded.

## Key takeaway

Gemini sorts files by name, not content, so it only helps if you already name your files sensibly.
