## Movie Changes from Books
The Harry Potter movies made major changes to condense stories into shorter runtimes, cutting popular characters and subplots.
## Power Downgrades for Wizards
Characters like Kingsley Shacklebolt and Mad-Eye Moody were pushed into the background, reducing their screen time and impact.
## Voldemort's Army Understated
The movies downplayed the strength of Death Eaters and other villains compared to their book portrayals.
## Gellert Grindelwald's Weakness
In movies, Grindelwald appears as a weakened old man, while books show him as defiant and powerful.
## Antonin Dolohov's Power
Dolohov fought off Harry, Hermione, and Ron single-handedly and defeated Filius Flitwick in the books, but movies show him as weak.
## The Carrows' Role
The Carrows were formidable in books, teaching students Fiendfyre, but movies reduced them to henchmen defeated by McGonagall.
## Corban Yaxley's Impact
Yaxley was a key torturer in the books, surviving duels with Flitwick, but movies show him as a minor character.
## Fenrir Greyback's Threat
Greyback caused Remus Lupin's lycanthropy and targeted children in books, but movies show him as a one-dimensional brute.
## Barty Crouch Jr's Deception
Barty Crouch Jr. outwitted Dumbledore and cast the Cruciatus Curse at 19 in books, but movies cut his backstory.
## Giants' Tactical Role
Giants were key tactical allies in battles, resisting magic, but movies reduced them to henchmen without strategic impact.
## HBO Reboot Coming
HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter reboot series will address these changes from the original books.
## Key takeaway

The Harry Potter movies underestimated the strength of villains like Grindelwald and Dolohov compared to the books.
