## Gym rules meet race day

## Viewers recoiled online
Social media reaction was swift and brutal. Some said the incident put them off Hyrox entirely, while others argued the race should have been stopped.

> the public health risk is more important than the medal
## Rules failed in real time
Hyrox had bio-contaminant rules, but critics said organizers let competition pressure blur the call. The company later admitted its process was unclear.

## The cofounder apologized
Hyrox cofounder Moritz Fürste said the organization should have reacted immediately. He promised process updates and rulebook changes after the backlash.

Shared fitness events need clear, immediate biohazard stops, even when the athlete is leading.
