## Indian state-owned LPG importers issue tender
Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum have issued a joint tender seeking 2.75 million metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas from the United States for delivery in 2027.
## Tender specifies monthly cargo volumes
The tender requires four very large gas carrier cargoes per month, each with a volume of 46,000 tons split evenly between propane and butane on a delivered basis.
## Additional cargo terms
The tender also seeks one 45,000-ton cargo each month on free-on-board basis, valid until October 22, 2027.
## LPG import context
India is the world's second-largest LPG importer, sourcing 90% of its 21.85 million metric tons from the Middle East in 2025.
## US-Israeli war impact
The US-Israeli war on Iran, which began in February, caused severe fuel supply disruptions leading to emergency measures in March to divert petrochemical feedstocks to households.
## Key takeaway

India's state-owned oil companies plan to import 2.75 million metric tons of US liquefied petroleum gas for 2027 via monthly term tenders.
