## A plea to keep it sealed
The woman Josh Jacobs battered asked a Brown County judge on Tuesday to permanently block release of any video showing the attack at his home.
## Privacy, dignity and safety
Identified in the filing only as ANM, she argued that public release of the footage would put her at risk in ways no later ruling could undo.

> Once sensitive information is released publicly, the resulting harm cannot be fully remedied.
## What the charges were
Jacobs was charged Aug. 27 with one count of battery and one of criminal damage to property, tied to a May 23 dispute where police say he roughed her up and broke her phone.
## What the footage shows
Police wrote that surveillance video caught Jacobs in an altercation with the woman in the garage, then taking her phone while she was on the floor and returning to damage it.

## Why it could go public
Jacobs pleaded no contest on Sept. 10, which meant the video was set to become available through police records requests. A judge granted a temporary injunction that same day.
## Still off the field
Jacobs says he is taking full responsibility. He has not practiced or played since the charges, and the NFL said last week he stays out while its investigation continues.
## Key takeaway

A no contest plea ended the criminal case, but the fight over who gets to see the video is still open.
