## Dogstar's Reunion
Dogstar reunited after a 20-year hiatus to release their comeback album All In Now in 2023.
## Album Release Details
Their 2023 album All In Now features singles like Joy and This Sphere, with a driving rock sound.
## Nick Launay's Role
Producer Nick Launay helped shape the album with his experience across diverse genres like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
## Keanu's Perspective
Keanu Reeves said the album has more rock energy than their previous work, focusing on raw urgency.

> I feel like I came in and said, 'Let's try and get some rock going.' These songs just had a lot more rock in them.
## Bret's Perspective
Bret Domrose explained the band's rejuvenation after a 20-year break, feeling fresh and young again.

> I think that if we had been playing together all that time, you know, grinding it out every day for 35 years, we'd probably hate each other or something. We're not burned out. We're coming back, and we feel young and happy and fresh.
## Musical Venn Diagram
The band's musical overlap is minimal, with each member having distinct styles and preferences.

> They cross like this much. Every time we try to pick a cover song to play, it's like, 'What about this?' 'No, no, no. What about that?'
## Cover Song Preferences
The band discussed cover songs, including The Cure's Just Like Heaven and The Cult's She Sells Sanctuary.

> We looked at White Wedding by Billy Idol. Sabotage by the Beastie Boys.
## Reunion History
The band had informal reunions over the years but never officially reunited until 2022.

> We just drifted. We were like three pieces of flotsam on the ocean, and one day we just drifted back.
## Production Process
Nick Launay's production style added creative elements without sacrificing the band's raw energy.

> He changed some drum parts. He restructured some things, like, 'Do two choruses here instead of one.'
## Bass and Guitar Dynamics
Keanu Reeves and Bret Domrose discussed their complementary roles in the band's sound.

> I try to keep the low-end and the beat on the ground with Robert, our drummer, but I also do a lot of melody off of what Bret's doing.
## Guitar and Bass Gear
The band uses vintage gear, including Keanu's Fender Precision Bass and Bret's Gibson ES-335.

> I finally got it, and it did way more for me than I ever expected. It sounded so different, and we were getting tones and weird overtones and feedback.
## Stage Presence
Keanu Reeves joked about stage volume, saying his hair would move in a good way.

> Your hair is going to move, but in a good way.
## Album Release
All In Now is available now via Dillon Street Records.
## Key takeaway

Dogstar released their comeback album All In Now after a 20-year hiatus, with Keanu Reeves and Bret Domrose emphasizing their renewed creative energy and musical synergy.
