## Kenny Chesney's Football Song
In 2010, Kenny Chesney released 'Boys Of Fall', a song about football love that became his first single from Hemingway's Whiskey.
## Song Lyrics
The song starts with 'When I feel that chill, smell that fresh cut grass / I’m back in my helmet, cleats, and shoulder pads / Standing in the huddle listening to the call / Fans going crazy for the boys of fall.'

> When I feel that chill, smell that fresh cut grass / I’m back in my helmet, cleats, and shoulder pads / Standing in the huddle listening to the call / Fans going crazy for the boys of fall.
## Songwriter Credit
Casey Beathard and Dave Turnbull wrote 'Boys Of Fall', though Kenny Chesney says it remains one of his most autobiographical songs.
## Chesney's First Reaction
Chesney recalled hearing the song and knew it captured the thrill of rushing out onto the field on a cold Friday night.
## East Tennessee Connection
Chesney says the song describes his East Tennessee upbringing and that 'in little towns like mine, that’s all we got.'

> In little towns like mine, that’s all we got.
## Why It Resonates
Chesney believes the song helps fans understand why high school football is life-changing for those who experience it.
## Key takeaway

Kenny Chesney considers 'Boys Of Fall' autobiographical despite not writing it, as it reflects his East Tennessee upbringing and high school football memories.
