## Lake Annecy beats Lake Como
Nestled in the French Alps, Lake Annecy offers crystal-clear water and a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and historical charm that rivals the famous Italian destination.
## Perfect timing in early September
Visiting in early September means fewer crowds than peak summer while still enjoying warm weather for sunbathing and outdoor activities.
## Something for every group member
The lake offers diverse activities from cycling paths to water sports, making it ideal for group vacations where different people want different experiences.
## Easy access from London
Lake Annecy is a convenient week-long destination from London, making it accessible for Americans exploring France or broader Europe.
## The next travel gem for Americans
As Lake Como becomes crowded and expensive, Lake Annecy offers a less-discovered alternative with equal beauty and more outdoor adventure options.
## Key takeaway

Lake Annecy combines outdoor activities, clear water, and historical appeal in a less-crowded alternative to established European lake destinations.
