## Why most people choose laptops
MacBooks are popular because they travel anywhere and come with built-in screen, keyboard, trackpad and webcam. No separate accessories needed.
## MacBook prices start low
The cheapest MacBook Neo costs six hundred ninety-nine dollars with an A eighteen Pro chip and eight gigabytes of RAM. The MacBook Air starts at one thousand two hundred ninety-nine dollars.
## Mac mini costs less, does more
The Mac mini base model starts at eight hundred ninety-nine dollars and includes the latest M six chip with sixteen gigabytes of RAM. It outperforms both MacBook models.
## Cooling makes the difference
The Mac mini has a fan-based cooling system that maintains sustained CPU and GPU performance. MacBooks without fans reduce performance when hot to prevent overheating.
## Desktop setup advantages
The Mac mini offers multiple USB-C Thunderbolt ports plus Ethernet, HDMI and a headphone jack. Perfect for a desktop setup with external monitor and peripherals.
## Accessory costs add up fast
If you need to buy a new monitor, keyboard and mouse, the total cost can quickly reach the price of a MacBook Air. The decision depends on what you already own.
## Choose based on your lifestyle
Buy a MacBook if you work on the go from coffee shops or while travelling. Buy a Mac mini if portability doesn't matter and you have a home desk setup.
## Key takeaway

The Mac mini delivers more power for less money than MacBooks, making it the smarter choice for people who work at a desk and already own peripherals.
