## macOS 27 is out
Apple shipped macOS 27 Golden Gate on Monday. It packs the new Siri AI assistant, Liquid Glass refinements, and performance gains.
## Intel Macs are done
The update only runs on Apple Silicon. Intel Macs got their last big release last year with macOS Tahoe, so that hardware stops here.
## Siri finally does things
The new Siri answers questions, searches your personal context like photos and emails, and takes actions inside apps such as Messages and Reminders.
## A Siri app with memory
There's a dedicated Siri app now, and it keeps an archive of your chats so you can go back and find what you asked.
## But it ships as beta
Siri AI launches in beta and English only. Everyone else waits, and early users should expect rough edges.
## Liquid Glass calms down
Apple promises uniform refraction and better contrast, plus a slider to dial the transparency up or down. Window corner radii are finally consistent.

## Key takeaway

macOS 27 is worth installing for the new Siri app and the calmer Liquid Glass, but only if your Mac runs Apple Silicon.
