## Final Debate Held
Republican incumbent Senator Susan Collins and Democratic challenger Troy Jackson faced off in their fourth and final debate on Thursday night.
## Minimal Voter Impact
The debate produced few campaign-defining lines or quotable moments, with little impact on voter memory beyond its live audience setting in Bangor.
## Jackson's Exposure Need
Jackson desperately needed debate exposure as he faced overwhelming TV ad attacks from incumbent Collins, who had months of campaign advantage.
## TV Spending Discrepancy
Maine’s Senate contest showed a $32 million TV spending gap favoring Collins, with her supporters spending $115 million versus Jackson’s $83 million.
## Jackson's Budget Defense
Jackson defended Maine’s balanced budget during his state Senate presidency, stating it was 'insane' to blame him for a $36 trillion debt increase.
## Collins' Trump Distance
Collins positioned herself as a Republican who opposes Trump on key issues, including tariffs and Iran policy, to distance from the former president.
## Road Salt Moment
Collins called the White House to get road salt lifted for a town of 900 people, saving $10,000 this year, while Jackson mocked the clip as 'we can’t eat road salt'.

> I didn’t mock the fact that she got road salt back. I mocked the fact that, what about everything else
## Process Divide
Collins emphasized Senate procedures and institutional knowledge, while Jackson focused on populist anger at the status quo and working-class struggles.
## Jackson's ICE Critique
Jackson accused Collins of inaction on ICE’s killing of Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero in Biddeford, stating it was 'as clear as that' without needing an inspector general report.
## Iran War Critique
Jackson criticized Collins for not ending the Iran war, arguing she could have done more with her Senate power to address the conflict.
## Key takeaway

Senator Susan Collins and Troy Jackson's fourth debate highlighted Collins' institutionalist style and Jackson's populist critiques of Senate procedures.
