## MapQuest Surveillance Layer
MapQuest added a Surveillance Layer to show crowdsourced license plate reader locations including Flock Safety cameras.
## Feature Launched October 2026
The Surveillance Layer launched in mid-october 2026 and covers multiple brands of hardware.
## Crowdsourced Camera Data
Drivers report camera locations through the app, but the data is not real-time and may miss new installations.
## Flock Safety Systems
Flock Safety cameras capture vehicle details like make, model, color and add-ons beyond license plates.
## Other Camera Brands
The layer includes systems from Motorola Solutions, Genetec, Axis Communications, Axon, and other manufacturers.
## What It Shows
The map shows where cameras are reported, not whether they are active or recording vehicles.
## Key takeaway

MapQuest's Surveillance Layer shows crowdsourced Flock Safety and other camera locations for license plate tracking.
