## Lizzie Borden's story
Ryan Murphy's Netflix series 'Monster' adapts the 1892 murder case of Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother

> The way Ryan thought of it, she's almost like a Mary Poppins that comes out of nowhere
## Veedee vibrator in show
The vintage Veedee mechanical vibrator appears in episodes 1 and 2
## Veedee history
The Veedee was a German-made medical device from 1901 to 1930, claiming to cure conditions through vibration
## Historical timeline
The Veedee was made years after the 1892 murders, so it's unlikely the Bordens used it
## Sapphic undertones
The show hints at a lesbian relationship between Lizzie Borden and her maid Bridget Sullivan
## Key takeaway

The Veedee vibrator, a pre-USB mechanical device, appears in the show but was made years after the murders
