## Garrett is going to IR
Multiple reports say the Rams star edge defender will have arthroscopic knee surgery and land on injured reserve.
## Four games gone
The stint costs him at least four weeks: the Giants, at Denver, at Philadelphia, then Buffalo.
## Philly misses him in Week 4
The Rams visit Philadelphia in Week 4, which falls squarely inside the window Garrett is out.

> As you can see, the Rams play the Eagles in Philadelphia Week 4.
## The Rams paid a fortune
Los Angeles sent Pro Bowl edge Jared Verse plus first, second, and third round picks to Cleveland to get him.
## Week 1 was already quiet
In the loss to San Francisco, Garrett finished with no tackles and no sacks before the knee sidelined him.
## This is the reigning DPOY
Garrett won NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2025 and was arguably the best player on the Rams roster.

> arguably the Rams' best player
## A pattern for the Eagles
Philadelphia also avoids Commanders left tackle Laremy Tunsil, widely seen as Washington's best player.
## Key takeaway

The Rams paid a franchise-altering price for Myles Garrett and won't see him on the field again until Week 6 at the earliest.
