## Lunar Hole Discovery
NASA selected a mission to investigate a 150-foot-deep lunar hole that may open into a large cave.
## Lava Tube Potential
Scientists believe the hole is a skylight, a collapsed roof of an underground lava tube that could reveal volcanic history.
## Rover Mission Details
The rover will use ground penetrating radar, seismic probes, and a gravimeter to check if the hole opens into a larger cave.
## Astronaut Shelter Benefits
Underground caves could shield astronauts from radiation and provide stable temperatures for long-term lunar bases.
## Key takeaway

NASA plans to send a rover to investigate a 150-foot-deep lunar hole that could be a lava tube entrance to a large cave.
