## Meta's glasses needed a cooking fix
When Meta's display-enabled glasses launched, they struggled as a cooking aid. Recipe steps wouldn't stay on screen long enough to complete them, forcing users back to their phones.
## Meta partners with New York Times
Meta has now integrated the New York Times Cooking app into its display glasses and wider lineup of non-display AI glasses. The feature was shown at Meta's developer state of the union at Connect.
## Hands-free mode narrates steps
The New York Times Cooking app is getting a hands-free mode that pairs with glasses to deliver audio cues. Users can receive ingredient measurements and instructions without touching their phones.
## Steps restructured for audio
The New York Times restructured lengthy recipe steps into brief audio instructions while preserving the author's expertise. The Ray-Ban Display version displays steps on cards users can swipe through.

> With cooking's editorial guidance, we developed a system to restructure lengthy steps into brief audio instructions, preserving the author's expertise while supplying ingredients and measurements in line.
## Rolling out later this fall
The New York Times Cooking app will arrive on Meta's glasses later this fall, according to the Times' AJ Chavar. The exact launch date has not been announced.
