## NFL Scheduling Shift
The NFL has begun scheduling some games on Wednesdays, with 'some' being the operative word.
## Schroeder's Statement
NFL executive VP and chief media officer Hans Schroeder said Wednesday games are not likely to become the norm.
## Selective Approach
Schroeder said the league will be selective about Wednesday games to test creative scheduling with prime-time viewership.
## Historical Context
The league previously had no plan to play on Christmas when December 25 falls on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
## Scheduling Strategy
The league could assign Wednesday games to teams emerging from a bye or those playing on the prior Thursday.
## Financial Motivation
Prime-time standalone games make more money than when dropped into Sunday afternoon windows with multiple games.
## What Happens Next
The NFL will test Wednesday games to see if they boost viewership before committing to regular scheduling.
## Key takeaway

NFL executive Hans Schroeder says Wednesday games will be selective, not the norm, to test creative scheduling with prime-time viewership.
