## Dutch trio reunites after seven years
Noisia announced their reunion on September 17 after spending seven years on solo projects. The group includes Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen, and Thijs de Vlieger.
## Why they broke up in 2019
After 20 years together, Noisia disbanded in 2019 because they felt it was the right time to end what they had built. The farewell tour extended into 2022 due to the pandemic.

> It's a risk we're taking, to put an end to something we've built for two decades.
## What they did during the break
Roos developed Sleepnet and Ring Noord, de Vlieger worked as Thys with collaborations and film scoring, and van Sonderen continued with Zonderling and production work across multiple genres.
## Why collaboration felt different
The members realized they missed the creative exchange and feedback from working together. Van Sonderen said doing things alone felt limiting compared to the group dynamic.

> What do I want to do? Something I can't do on my own.
## First show back in December
Noisia will play their first reunion show on December 4 at Amsterdam's Melkweg, the same venue where they performed during their farewell tour. More dates will be announced later.
## Documentary marks the reunion
Noisia released a 27-minute documentary called Vlucht on September 10, directed by Farhad Khodadadzade, to tease their reunion announcement.
## Key takeaway

Noisia is reuniting because the three members missed the collaborative creative process, even while pursuing successful solo projects.
