## One Nation launches Victorian campaign
One Nation held its campaign launch on Saturday, October third at Crown Casino in Melbourne, with national leader Pauline Hanson and Victorian leader Warren Pickering addressing roughly seven hundred fifty supporters.
## Hanson calls supporters the engine
Pauline Hanson told the crowd they were now the driving force of the party. She attacked the Labor government's record on crime, corruption and debt, saying Victorians had been treated like mugs.

> What I've provided is a vehicle; now you are the engine, now you drive it.
## Hanson responds to Premier's fear
Premier Ben Carroll said last month that the rise of One Nation in Victoria terrified him. Hanson responded by saying Carroll should be scared of the crowd instead, not of her.

> If you're listening, Ben, don't be scared of me. I tell you what mate, he should be scared of you.
## Law and order is centrepiece
One Nation's law-and-order policies took up the first several pages of a sixty-three page policy booklet. Warren Pickering said it was the policy he was most proud of and probably the most important to Victoria.

> The policy that I'm most proud of, and probably the most important to Victoria, is our crime policy.
## One Nation to recruit ADF veterans
One Nation promised to recruit an estimated ten thousand suitably qualified contemporary veterans in Victoria into the police force through an accelerated program, while providing sign-on bonuses and accommodation allowances.

> We're proposing to utilise some of the estimated 10,000 suitably qualified contemporary veterans in this state to lean into the police force.
## Harsher penalties for young offenders
One Nation plans to reduce the age of criminal responsibility for children to ten years old, charge young offenders of serious violent crimes as adults, and hold parents liable for fines and property damage caused by their children.
## Judicial system investment pledged
One Nation promised to increase the number of magistrates, fund a twenty-four hour bail court and build three new magistrates' courts in Melbourne's outer suburbs to speed up the judicial process.
## Suburban Rail Loop to be scrapped
One Nation said it would scrap the Suburban Rail Loop project and divert the funds to infrastructure such as the Airport Rail line and the electrification of the Melton line.
## Treaty and climate policies axed
One Nation said it would abolish Gellung Warl, the First Peoples' representative body, and scrap the statewide Treaty. The party also pledged to scrap all net-zero targets and subsidies and repeal the statewide ban on nuclear energy.
## Government dismisses One Nation
Government minister Nick Staikos said One Nation was not a serious political party and that the government would not make deals with it, accusing the party of importing the worst of American politics to Victoria.

> We don't share anything in common with that party, we will not be making deals with that party.
## Opposition avoids naming One Nation
Opposition Leader Jess Wilson refused to mention One Nation by name when asked about Hanson's comments, instead saying Victorians were looking for a change of government through a Liberal and Nationals government.

> I know that Victorians are looking for a change of government this year, and the only way to do that is to elect a Liberal and Nationals government.
## Key takeaway

One Nation launched its Victorian election campaign on October third, pledging law-and-order investment funded by scrapping the Suburban Rail Loop and Treaty.
