## Polka dots on late night
Angine de Poitrine played their first US television spot on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on September 14, in full costume.
## A brand new song
Instead of playing a known track, the duo used the slot to premiere Zugzegk, running just over four minutes.
## Robot voice, double neck
Khn opened on a new Godin double-neck guitar/bass with the robotic voice the Dada-ist band is now known for, then dropped into a looped microtonal frenzy.
## From KEXP to everywhere
A viral KEXP session in Seattle turned the masked duo into a breakout act, with millions of streams and slots across major festivals.
## It was never only the music
Khn told Guitar World that virtuosity alone does not explain the rise. The band both celebrates and mocks rock cliches, and people wanted that.

> Has the success of any rock band ever been only about the music?
## Sold out across America
Their North American tour is sold out and already underway, opening September 9 at Le Poisson Rouge in New York.
## Key takeaway

Angine de Poitrine's rise is a package deal: the odd costumes and the rock cliche satire carry the music as much as the riffs do.
