## New Transformers film in works
Paramount Pictures and Hasbro are reportedly streamlining efforts to bring a new Transformers movie to theaters after Peter Cullen's departure.
## Spielberg to lead creative direction
Steven Spielberg will take a more prominent creative role as executive producer for the eighth live-action Transformers film, returning to lead creative direction as he did with 2007's Transformers.
## Michael Bay to direct next installment
Michael Bay is reportedly returning to direct the franchise's eighth installment after previously working on the Transformers series.
## Jason Fuchs writes script
Jason Fuchs has provided a script for the modern-day Transformers film, which has met the approval of Spielberg and has been attached to produce since August 2025.
## Skydance acquisition enables plans
Skydance's successful absorption of Warner Bros. means there is technically little in the way to keep Michael Bay from putting a Batman in the next Transformers movie.
## Key takeaway

Paramount and Skydance are developing a new Transformers film with Spielberg as executive producer, avoiding Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime.
