## Duren remains unsigned as camp nears
The Pistons' star center has been in contract talks since June with no deal in sight. Training camp starts in just one week.
## Pistons bump offer to $200 million
Detroit increased its five-year contract proposal from $180-190 million to $200 million, but Duren still hasn't accepted.

## Money isn't the only issue
Duren feels disrespected by the Pistons, and earlier offers included weight clauses that complicated negotiations further.
## Duren's strong season and weak playoffs
He averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to earn All-NBA honors and help Detroit win the East's top seed, but struggled against Orlando and Cleveland in the playoffs.
## Lakers deal complicated the market
Los Angeles traded for Walker Kessler and gave him $130 million over four years, eliminating Duren's best external option and raising the price for other teams.
## Teammates signing deals adds pressure
Other members of the 2023 draft class, including Duren's teammate Ausar Thompson, are inking extensions, making the stalemate more urgent.
## Key takeaway

Jalen Duren's contract negotiations with the Pistons have stalled over more than just money, with trust issues and market complications making a deal harder to reach.
