## India's largest solar cell plant opens
Premier Energies commissioned a 7 GW solar cell facility in Andhra Pradesh, expanding its total capacity to 10.6 GW. The N-type TOPCon plant at Naidupeta was completed on schedule and within its 3,293 crore rupee budget.

> Commissioning India's largest solar cell manufacturing facility on time and within budget is an important execution milestone for Premier Energies.
## Advanced technology for efficiency
The facility uses automated systems, artificial intelligence for process control, and is designed for future upgrades. It targets average solar cell efficiency of 25.8% once stabilised.
## Sustainability and water management
The plant features a Zero Liquid Discharge system to increase water recycling and reuse, reducing environmental impact while operating at scale.
## Broader expansion plans underway
Premier Energies is investing 12,500 crore rupees over three years to expand solar manufacturing, move into ingot and wafer production, and diversify into inverters, transformers and battery storage systems.
## Supporting India's clean energy goals
The plant strengthens India's push for renewable energy as the country targets 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070.
## Reducing supply chain dependence
The new facility helps Premier Energies reduce reliance on external supply chains and supply high-efficiency solar products to Indian and international markets.

> The combination of scale, automation and advanced cell technology is designed to improve manufacturing competitiveness, strengthen supply-chain resilience and position Premier Energies to address demand for high-efficiency solar products in India and international markets.
## Key takeaway

Premier Energies commissioned India's largest solar cell plant with 7 GW capacity, positioning itself to supply high-efficiency solar products domestically and globally while supporting India's clean energy targets.
