## Harry jumps for Canadian veterans
Prince Harry skydived near Toronto on Friday to raise funds for the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre and True Patriot Love Foundation, two organizations supporting Canadian veterans.
## A promise to Ed Marshall
Harry met 102-year-old Ed Marshall, a former military paratrooper, at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre last November. Marshall told him he planned to jump again, and Harry promised to join him.

> I was planning on jumping again and he said, 'well I'll join you,' so I took him up on that.
## Marshall couldn't make the jump
A medical evaluation determined that the 102-year-old veteran, who will turn 103 this year, couldn't safely skydive. His grandson Bailey jumped with Harry instead while Marshall watched from the plane.

> He was devastated that he couldn't jump, but it was great to have him in the back of the plane.
## Harry calls Meghan from the ground
After landing safely, Harry called his wife Meghan Markle, who remained at their home in England. He said she was relieved once they were down after the long wait to get airborne.

> I didn't have to convince her, but she was relieved once we were down.
## Focus on the Invictus Games
Harry said his return to British soil has been great and that the kids are happy in school. He plans to focus on the Invictus Games coming to Birmingham in July next year.

> It's been great to be back on British soil.
## AI crashes his speech in New York
Days before the skydive, Harry spoke at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York about AI and social media risks to children. A teleprompter glitch caused a 40-minute pause, which he joked was AI getting into his speech.

> AI got into my speech, so I was asked to come out and finish it.
## Key takeaway

Harry fulfilled a commitment he made to a decorated centenarian by skydiving to support veteran charities, even when the veteran himself couldn't safely make the jump.
