## What is it?
The Tekton SVN is PRS's first USA production seven-string electric guitar designed for modern rock and metal players.
## Specs
Launch price: $2,999 | £2,999 | Made in USA | Seven-string electric guitar with mahogany body and figured mango top.
## Build quality
The carved mango top and slimmed-down shape show impressive build quality with a five-star rating.
## Playability
The neck feels comfortable despite the extra string and longer scale length, with minimal ergonomic issues.
## Sounds
The Stylus humbuckers deliver clear, detailed sound with excellent string separation and coil-split functionality.
## Verdict
The Tekton SVN is a truly fantastic seven-string guitar that works seamlessly with an extra string.
## Reasons to buy
The same arresting looks and fantastic design as the six-string Tektons. The 26.5" scale is ideal for articulate lows and fluid solos. The Stylus pickups are impressive for seven-string, especially with coil-split.
## Reasons to avoid
The top edge can be uncomfortable for your picking arm to rest on compared to a Strat-esque elbow contour.
## Also try
Strandberg Boden Original N2.7 at $2,599 | Ibanez RGDR4327R at $2,999 | PRS SE Mark Holcomb SVN at $1,199.
