## Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 Launch
Meta is launching a third-generation model of its Ray-Ban smart glasses designed to be slimmer and more comfortable while delivering an extra hour of battery life.
## Price Increase
The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) goes on sale today starting at $449, a slight price increase from the second-gen version that starts at $379.
## Battery Life
The newer glasses offer 9 hours of battery life, up from 8 hours, with a six-microphone array to reduce more than 90% of background noise.
## Action Button
The glasses feature a longer customizable action button that lets you access Meta's AI assistant or other options, including a custom prompt.
## Microphone Improvement
The six-microphone array picked up my voice clearly even during a noisy reception at Meta's offices, despite music and chatter.
## Comfort and Design
The Aviator Gen 3 model felt comfortable but is still bulkier than typical glasses, potentially causing strain over time.
## Privacy Safeguards
The glasses flash a light when taking pictures or recording video to warn people they're on camera, with a camera-free model coming next month.
## Additional Features
All media imports automatically into Meta's AI app, and charging involves placing them in the case with a USB-C cable.
## Color Options
Meta plans to sell 27 color and lens combinations, including Black, Havana, and select seasonal colors.
## Key takeaway

Meta's Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 smart glasses launch with improved noise cancellation and 9 hours of battery life, starting at $449.
