## Rays clinch playoff spot at home
Tampa Bay celebrated reaching the postseason for the first time in three years after Junior Caminero's walk-off home run against Houston at Tropicana Field 11 days ago.
## History of clinching away from home
The Rays have celebrated playoff clinches in unusual places: delayed at Fenway in 2023, in Houston's visiting clubhouse in 2022, and at the Trop with pandemic restrictions in 2021.
## Chance to clinch in New York
The Rays can win their first AL East title in five years during this four-game series at Yankee Stadium, and they can eliminate New York with just one win.

> I don't know if there's a better city to clinch in than New York.
## Pride in clinching at rival's park
There's satisfaction in celebrating a division title inside an opponent's visiting clubhouse rather than at home, especially against a rival like the Yankees.
## Players focused on bigger goals
While clinching the AL East would be a major accomplishment, Rays players say their eyes are on October and the postseason, not just the regular-season division title.

> Everyone here knows that the job isn't finished.
## Playoff preview against big markets
Playing seven games against playoff-bound teams in New York and Philadelphia this week gives the Rays a chance to prepare for October baseball in high-pressure environments.
## Veterans teaching younger players
Experienced Rays players are telling younger teammates what to expect in the playoffs, emphasizing the increased intensity and the need to focus on winning one pitch at a time.

> It's about winning one pitch at a time, not needing a hero.
## Key takeaway

The Rays have a chance to win their first AL East title in five years by beating the Yankees in New York this week, which would also serve as valuable playoff preparation.
