## Reacher is coming back
Prime Video confirmed in May 2026 that Alan Ritchson will return as Jack Reacher for season 5 of the hit action series.
## Season 4 went bigger
The fourth season leaned harder into political conspiracy thrillers than ever before, bringing government black ops and national figures into the story for the first time.
## But it still delivered action
Season 4 ended with some of the greatest Reacher action to date, including his final face-off with Lila and Amisha, plus a touching moment on the Philadelphia subway.
## Expected release window
Based on the pattern of previous seasons releasing one to one and a half years apart, season 5 should arrive around fall or winter of 2027.
## Based on Make Me novel
Season 5 will adapt Make Me, the 20th book in Lee Child's Reacher series from 2016, following Reacher's encounter with a mysterious small town called Mother's Rest.
## Amanda Ip joins as Michelle Chang
Amanda Ip has been cast as Michelle Chang, a woman involved in a case of mistaken identity with Reacher in the upcoming season.
## Jay Baruchel gets his shot
Jay Baruchel joins the cast as Chief Buck Bauer after dropping out of season 4 due to personal matters. He was originally supposed to play Jacob Merrick.
## Kevin Durand and Ciara Bravo cast
Kevin Durand, known for Lost and other notable roles, and Ciara Bravo from Netflix's Voicemails for Isabelle round out the season 5 cast.
## Neagley spinoff is live
A new spinoff series centered on Reacher's friend Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, is now available to watch on Prime Video.
## Key takeaway

Reacher season 5 is confirmed for fall or winter 2027, based on the novel Make Me, with a new cast including Jay Baruchel and Kevin Durand.
