## Health secretary backs chemtrails myth
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced the government will investigate chemtrails, a conspiracy theory claiming planes secretly seed the sky with chemicals for weather control or population control.

> We're also looking at chemtrails at the impact of emissions from aircraft, and those potential impacts on health.
## He made the claim at an anti-vaccine group
Kennedy gave a keynote speech at Children's Health Defense, an anti-vaccine nonprofit he helped create, filled with unproven health claims.
## The EPA already debunked this
Plane trails are contrails, condensation created by hot jet exhaust meeting cold air, like breath on a cold day. The EPA formally debunked the chemtrails theory about a month after RFK previously vowed to investigate it.
## Measles cases surge under his watch
Pennsylvania has recorded over 3,300 measles cases, the worst outbreak in over three decades, likely caused by anti-vaccine rhetoric promoted by RFK and others. The CDC under his leadership is refusing to count some measles deaths reported by state officials.
## His priorities are deeply misaligned
While measles spreads and kills people, Kennedy focuses on debunked chemtrails conspiracy. His willingness to investigate a theory the government supposedly perpetrates shows how far he's gone down the conspiracy rabbit hole.
## Key takeaway

RFK Jr. is now openly promoting chemtrails conspiracy theories despite the EPA debunking them, while measles cases surge under his leadership.
