## Back at No. 1
Ricardo Montaner’s “Para Que Seas Feliz” rises from No. 4 to No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay chart dated Sept. 19, ending a 24-year gap.

> “completely unexpected”
## A rare chart return
The song is Montaner’s 40th Latin Pop Airplay hit and fourth chart-topper. His last No. 1, “Yo Puedo Hacer,” led for two weeks in August 2002.
## Radio made it happen
“Para Que Seas Feliz” drew 5.5 million U.S. audience impressions in the week ending Sept. 10, up 60%, according to Luminate.
## Only Estefan waited longer
Gloria Estefan is the only artist with a longer wait between Latin Pop Airplay No. 1s. Montaner’s gap was 24 years and one month.
## He never disappeared
Montaner first reached the chart in 1994 with “No Te Pareces a Mí.” His busiest run came in the 2000s, when he placed 17 songs on the tally.
## Latin Airplay joins in
The single also debuts at No. 8 on Latin Airplay, giving Montaner his ninth top 10 there and his first visit to that region since 2005.
## Another version is rising
A regional Mexican version with Edén Muñoz is gaining radio traction too, reaching No. 17 on Regional Mexican Airplay one month after its debut.

> “Thank you to Edén for joining me”
## Key takeaway

Montaner’s comeback shows Latin pop careers can still break through radio years after their commercial peak.
