## Uber Eats launched in 2014
Uber created Uber Eats as the convenient modern answer to traditional food delivery, letting you order from hundreds of local restaurants, cafes, and stores through one app.
## New users save 30 to 50%
First-time Uber Eats customers automatically get 30 to 50% off their first order, plus up to $20 off rides or $15 off additional orders. No promo code needed.
## Uber One membership pays off
At $10 per month, Uber One gives you zero delivery fees on eligible orders, up to 10% off Uber Eats, 5% back in credits on rides, and automatic surge savings. Members save $29 monthly on average.
## Students get four weeks free
Verify your student status to try Uber One free for four weeks, then pay just $5 per month after. That's half the regular $10 price.
## Gift cards start at $15
Uber Eats gift cards can be purchased from retailers or sent instantly through the app. They're thoughtful gifts for life changes, celebrations, or times of grief.
## Groceries delivered in 25 minutes
Uber Eats partners with hundreds of grocery stores, drugstores, and supermarkets for same-day delivery. Order toilet paper, milk, or anything else you need.
## Earn money as a delivery driver
Deliver with your car, bike, or on foot on your own schedule. See your earnings before accepting jobs, keep all tips, and cash out up to 6 times daily.
## How to apply promo codes
Go to your account menu, select Promotions or Add promo at checkout, enter the code, and it applies automatically if valid. Uber Eats and Uber rides codes are separate.
## Key takeaway

New users get 30-50% off their first order automatically, and Uber One membership saves regular users about $29 monthly.
