## A rare New York moment
The Jets and the Giants are both giving their fans something to smile about at the same time. That has not happened in 17 years.
## Harbaugh's Giants set the tone
John Harbaugh walked off MetLife Stadium after Sunday's game against the Cowboys with the kind of look Giants fans have not seen in a long while.
## How long is 17 years?
Long enough for a baby fussing in a cradle to be getting primped for the junior prom.

> How long is 17 years?
## Ask the cicadas
Brood X and other North American periodical cicadas spend exactly 17 years underground as nymphs, feeding on tree sap before they all climb out at once.
## Rewind to 2009
Barack Obama was less than a year into his first term. Michael Bloomberg was about to become the last of four men who will ever serve three terms as mayor of New York.
## Taylor, Kanye, and a Webby
Twitter, now X, won a Webby for Breakout of the Year. And a 19-year-old Taylor Swift had her VMAs acceptance speech interrupted by Kanye West.
## Key takeaway

Seventeen years is long enough for a newborn to reach the junior prom, which is exactly how long New York waited for both its football teams to feel good at once.
