## OnlyFans star tackles climate change
Lily Phillips released a climate PSA called "Body Count" for Headline Newds, a web series about climate science and the oil industry. The video uses her platform to reach millions of followers.

> Big Oil fucks more people every day than I can do in a lifetime
## Headline Newds launched by McKay
The project was created by Adam McKay (director of The Big Short and Don't Look Up), along with performers Bree Essrig and Megan Prescott, and filmmaker Jessica Riches. It launched in April with its second season premiering this week.
## Sex workers as climate messengers
Megan Prescott says sex workers are the messengers we need because they can change the world. The project taps into the parasocial relationships between creators and their fans to engage audiences with climate messaging.

> Sex workers can change the world. That's our ethos.
## Reclaiming sex workers' humanity
Prescott and Essrig have appeared in earlier Headline Newds videos. They highlight how sex workers are often used for clickbait and not seen as human beings, especially those who make headlines for their content.

> We're so used to people using sex workers for clickbait and not seeing them as human beings
## More creators joining the effort
Porn performer Ivy Maddox recently joined Headline Newds, with the project promising more special guest stars. The series continues expanding its roster of sex worker climate activists.
## Key takeaway

Sex workers have massive fan followings and parasocial relationships with audiences, making them uniquely effective messengers for climate change awareness.
