## An American final at last
Ben Shelton, 23 and seeded 8th, plays the 2026 U.S. Open men's final in New York with a chance to end a 23-year American drought.

> Ben Shelton will be looking to be the first American man to win the U.S. Open since Andy Roddick
## How he got here
Shelton beat fellow American Frances Tiafoe in Friday's semifinal, setting up a match against top seed Alexander Zverev.
## When and where to watch
Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. ET, 11 a.m. PT, live on ABC. Any local ABC affiliate carries it on regular TV.
## DirecTV is the top pick
A five-day free trial covers the whole match. Plans start at $44.99 a month for the MySports Genre Pack with ABC, ESPN and 20 more channels. Cancel before it bills.
## Fubo adds a DVR
Fubo carries ABC, ESPN and Tennis Channel, and its free trial includes DVR so you can record the final and watch the replay later.
## Sling is the cheap route
No free trial here, but the Sling Select plan starts at $19.99. Check Sling.com first to confirm ABC is available in your market.
## Skip the Reddit links
Sketchy free streams circulate every year, but ABC holds the only official feed, reachable through DirecTV, Fubo or Sling on phone, laptop, tablet or TV.

## Zverev is the favorite
The 29-year-old German won the French Open this year and leads Shelton 5-0 head to head. Shelton's box has Trinity Rodman, Jalen Brunson and Ben Stiller in it.
## Key takeaway

The final airs on ABC at 2 p.m. ET, and free trials from DirecTV or Fubo get you the stream at no cost.
