## Sony's new Pulse headset lineup
Sony just announced two new PlayStation Pulse wireless gaming headsets for PS5. They're designed to replace the Pulse Elite from 2024.
## Pulse Edge packs premium features
The top-tier Edge model uses custom planar magnetic drivers with eight magnets for studio-quality sound. It includes a detachable boom mic with AI noise rejection.
## Built for serious gamers
The Edge has console-integrated volume controls, a game audio and chat balance slider, and active noise cancellation. It comes with a USB-C adapter and carrying case.
## Standard Pulse cuts corners
The entry-level Pulse uses only four magnets instead of eight. It lacks the boom mic, chat balance feature, active noise cancellation, and carrying case.
## Pricing still a mystery
Sony hasn't revealed how much either headset will cost. This makes it tough to judge value against competitors like SteelSeries and Corsair.
## Coming early next year
Both headsets launch in early 2025 in white and black. They work natively with PlayStation Portal thanks to built-in PlayStation Link compatibility.
## Key takeaway

Sony's new Pulse headsets feature planar magnetic drivers and PS Portal compatibility, but pricing remains unknown.
