## The first real test
Arizona State walks into Kyle Field on Saturday to face No. 10 Texas A&M, nationally televised. Everything before this was a warmup.

> Arizona State gets its first major test of the 2026 season
## From 70-7 to this
The Sun Devils opened by burying Morgan State 70-7. The jump in competition from that to a playoff-hopeful Aggies team is close to vertical.
## Cutter Boley's proving game
Boley looked sharp in week one against an overmatched opponent. A hostile road crowd is the only way to find out if that was real.

> an opportunity to show their impressive debut was more than an opening-week performance
## A&M has playoff plans
Texas A&M enters ranked 10th with College Football Playoff aspirations, which means no margin for a letdown against an unranked visitor.
## Five things, not every play
Arizona State On SI is tracking the five developments that decide the game: matchups, momentum swings, and turning points. Not a play-by-play.

> the matchups, momentum swings and turning points that ultimately determine the outcome

## Key takeaway

A 70-7 win over Morgan State proves nothing. The No. 10 Aggies are the first real measurement of this Arizona State team.
