## Sweetgreen raises manager pay to $200K
The salad bowl chain announced Tuesday it is rolling out a new compensation and incentive plan for twenty twenty-seven that raises annual pay for managers of high-performing locations to more than two hundred thousand dollars.
## Eligibility and bonus structure
Managers need at least three years on the job to qualify for the highest pay bands.
## Attracting and retaining talent
Chief operating officer Jason Cochran told Business Insider the move sets Sweetgreen in the top tier of restaurants for total compensation.

> Our ability to be able to attract, retain, and also inspire many of our internal team members to want to be head coaches, I think it's going to be meaningful for many years to come.
## Part of broader retention strategy
Co-founder and CEO Jonathan Nemen said the changes are part of a larger push to improve talent retention and training as Sweetgreen approaches three hundred restaurants.

> Great leaders build great teams, and great teams build a great business.
## Key takeaway

Sweetgreen is raising annual pay for top store managers to more than two hundred thousand dollars starting in twenty twenty-seven, with bonuses tied to sales performance.
