## Tesla Unveils New Roadster
Tesla has officially unveiled the next-generation Roadster with three configurations including a Rocket version that can fly for short hops.

> Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
## Roadster Performance Variants
The Performance model achieves 0-60 mph in under 1.6 seconds, Thrust under 0.9 seconds, and Rocket under 0.59 seconds.
## Rocket Version Details
The Rocket is a single-seater designed to fly with cold-gas thrusters placed around the car's perimeter for forward, upward and rotational movement.
## 0-60 mph Test Results
Tesla demonstrated a 0-60 mph time of 0.81 seconds in a video posted on X, or 0.67 seconds with rollout subtracted.
## Flight Capabilities
The Rocket version tops out at over 230 mph (~370 km/h) and offers more than 300 miles (~483 km) of range.
## Thruster Technology
The Roadster uses cold-gas thrusters that produce four to five times the grip force of conventional tires, enabling sub-second 0-60 times.
## Suction and Active Aero
A multi-mode fan and ground sealing system creates enough suction for the Roadster to hold itself upside down while standing still.
## Design Inspiration
The Roadster draws design cues from military jets like the SR-71 and F-35, featuring hidden headlights and a single full-width taillight.
## Track Mode
The Roadster transforms into Track Mode for F1-level downforce, using the same actuator system developed for Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot.
## Reservations Open
Reservations are now open on Tesla's website for the Roadster variants, with prices not yet announced.
## Key takeaway

Tesla unveiled a new Roadster supercar with 0-60 mph in 0.8 seconds and a Rocket version capable of short flights.
