## Tinashe sets a high bar
The singer won't open for just any major artist. She needs to feel they truly understand her artistry and will give her space to be herself.

> I'm not gonna open for anyone unless I feel like they really understand what I'm about
## She's opened for the biggest names
Tinashe has already shared stages with Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, and Maroon 5, so she's earned the right to be selective.
## Harry Styles passed the test
Styles impressed Tinashe by being open to artistry and focused on fan experience, which she sees as the heart of live music.
## Phoenix shows kick off the tour
Tinashe will open both of Styles' April 2 and 3 shows at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, launching the North American leg of his expanded Together, Together tour.
## Perfect timing for new music
Tinashe is entering a new era with her fifth album Popstar dropping September 25, following recent success with her top 40 hit No Broke Boys.
## A stadium first for Tinashe
She's never performed her songs in a stadium before, making the Harry Styles tour a major milestone in her career.

> I never perform my songs in a stadium
## Key takeaway

Tinashe only agrees to open for artists who genuinely understand her vision and prioritize fan experience, not just the paycheck or exposure.
