## Titans stumble in season opener
Tennessee lost 23-10 to the Jets at home in Week 1, with the offense managing just three points for most of the game before a late touchdown.
## Offense completely lifeless
Cam Ward's offense never found rhythm, lost time of possession by over 17 minutes, and failed to generate meaningful gains until the game was out of reach.

> It was painful to watch Cam Ward attempt to operate the Titans' offense, which was lifeless for most of their season-opening loss to the Jets.
## Defense lost the trenches
Tennessee's defense struggled to contain the Jets' rush attack and lost the battle in the trenches throughout the game.
## NFL.com ranks Titans 31st
NFL.com placed Tennessee at number 31, citing the lifeless offense and defensive struggles that defined the Week 1 loss.
## Clock ticking on Cam Ward
Sports Illustrated warns that each week Ward underperforms, the Titans move closer to a lost season and a potential top draft pick at quarterback.

> I just don't know if there's a roster to support that player right now.
## Offense produced just 195 yards
Brian Daboll's offense managed only 195 total yards against the Jets, with 65 of those coming on a garbage-time drive in the fourth quarter.

> Robert Saleh's Tennessee debut was a total disaster.
## All rankings put Titans in bottom three
NFL.com, Sports Illustrated, FOX Sports, and ESPN all ranked Tennessee in the bottom three, showing consensus that the team showed no promise against a rebuilding Jets squad.
## Offseason improvements didn't show
Despite hiring Robert Saleh, adding new coaching staff, and acquiring talent through free agency and the draft, Tennessee looked like the same three-win team from last year.
## Eagles visit in must-win Week 2
Philadelphia comes to town for Week 2. An 0-2 start would be devastating to Tennessee's playoff hopes, making this essentially a must-win game.
## Key takeaway

The Titans looked unprepared despite offseason improvements, and an 0-2 start would be catastrophic for their playoff hopes.
