## One thing to stop
Speaking to reporters at his Doonbeg golf club in Ireland, Trump said Zelenskyy should keep attacking Russia but leave the diesel supply alone.

> He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia
## Why diesel matters
Ukraine has spent months hitting Russia's oil and gas industry, arguing the sector both pays for the invasion and physically moves the army.
## An exporter rationing fuel
The drone campaign has forced fuel rationing inside one of the world's biggest oil and gas exporters. Strikes on Russian online retailers pushed the war closer to daily life.
## Russia hits the grid
Moscow has escalated with ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones aimed at Ukraine's power grid before winter, which Ukrainian officials call an attempt to break civilian morale.
## Two killed in Tatarstan
A drone hit a tree near a parked car in Nizhnekamsk, killing two and injuring 14. The city holds some of Russia's largest refineries and petrochemical plants.
## Refinery struck near Crimea
Ukraine's military intelligence said its drones hit an oil processing unit and tank farm at Slavyansk-on-Kuban. Local officials reported three injured, a damaged pipeline and a fire.
## Odesa under sustained fire
Nine people were injured in an overnight attack on Ukraine's main Black Sea port. A Saturday strike on a residential high-rise there killed two and injured 26.
## Drones at NATO's door
A drone set a petrol station alight near the Yahodyn crossing with Poland, a main route for Western aid. Officials said the crossing itself was undamaged.

> Russian barbarians are at your gate, dear partners
## Border crossings as targets
Two people died Tuesday when drones hit a Ukraine-Moldova crossing, and Poland's Donald Tusk warned of more provocations at Ukraine's crossings into Europe.
## October talks, same deadlock
The Kremlin says three-way talks could restart as soon as October. After Kushner and Witkoff shuttled between Moscow and Kyiv, the demands on territory still cancel each other out.
## Key takeaway

Ukraine's most effective weapon right now is drone strikes on Russian refineries, which is exactly the pressure Trump wants dialed back.
