## Trump's Russia Sanctions Waiver
Republican members of Congress blasted U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to waive a tariff law passed last month to restrict Russian energy exports.
## GOP Allies Criticize Waiver
Critics argued the move will help Moscow wage its war on Ukraine and bypass sanctions law championed by the late Sen. Lindsey Graham.
## Sen. Ted Cruz's Stance
Sen. Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican closely allied to Trump, said the administration should have found other ways to lower fuel costs.
## Alternative Solutions
Cruz suggested importing more fuel from Canada or waiving renewable-fuel requirements instead.
## Key takeaway

Republican members of Congress criticized President Trump's decision to waive a tariff law restricting Russian energy exports as irresponsible.
