## Ukrainian startup builds drone video interceptor
Kyiv equipment startup CODE380 created the D·Vision SDR, a pocket-sized receiver that picks up live camera video from Russian drones and displays it on a screen.
## Russian drones broadcast unencrypted video signals
Russian drones send their video over the air without scrambling, so anyone with the right receiver can watch along. Ukrainian units see where drones are heading and what pilots are aiming at before impact.
## Device weighs half as much as competing models
The D·Vision SDR weighs about ten ounces, less than half the weight of competing Ukrainian models, one of which weighs a couple of pounds.
## Future Russian drones may render device obsolete
Serhii Flash Beskrestnov, a radio specialist advising Ukraine's president, warned that digital video could one day replace analog, which would blind receivers like this one.

> most detectors don't see these frequencies, or see them poorly
## Key takeaway

Ukrainian startup CODE380 built a pocket-sized receiver that intercepts unencrypted video feeds from Russian drones, giving forces advance warning of attacks.
