## Vijayan challenges FIR order
Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan moved the Supreme Court on October 16, 2026 against a High Court order directing registration of an FIR in the 278-crore CMRL-Exalogic payoff case.
## Who else is named
Vijayan's daughter T. Veena and son-in-law and former Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas also filed petitions against the FIR direction.
## Chief Justice agrees to hear during holidays
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant agreed to try and hear the petitions during the Supreme Court's Dasara holidays, or list them for October 26.

## Vijayan's fear of arrest
Vijayan's lawyers told the Chief Justice that an eighty two year old man faces possible arrest and grave prejudice if the FIR is acted upon by police or the Directorate of Enforcement.

## Vijayan's core argument
Vijayan said there was absolutely no material against him. No demand, acceptance, official act or money trail was alleged against him in the case.

Vijayan said he was not a party in the petition filed by advocate K.M. Shajahan before the High Court and was never heard before the October 9 FIR registration order.

Two complaints seeking vigilance investigation were rejected by Special Courts. The High Court dismissed the case in March 2025. The Supreme Court dismissed a petition against that judgment in October 2025.

## Rapid sequence of events
The State government directed an enquiry on September 22, 2026. A Special Team was constituted the next day. Advocate Shajahan sent FIR complaints and filed a writ petition within forty eight hours.
