## White Sox chase series win
Chicago looks to take the series against Cleveland after Monday's thrilling victory. The division rivals meet at Progressive Field with the White Sox holding a one-game edge at 77-73.
## Noah Schultz returns to majors
The rookie flamethrower is back after a successful Triple-A stint. With starting pitching struggles, all eyes are on whether he can help the rotation before playoffs.
## Grichuk batting second as lefty killer
Randal Grichuk moves up to the two-hole in a righty-heavy lineup designed to attack Guardians lefty Foster Griffin. Chase Meidroth leads off as usual against southpaws.
## Meidroth struggling at the plate
The leadoff man is slashing just .204/.322/.347 over his last 15 games with two home runs. He'll try to break out against the left-handed Griffin.
## Vargas breaks slump, Murakami still cold
Miguel Vargas went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer Monday. Munetaka Murakami remains ice cold at 5-for-53 in his last 15 games with 29 strikeouts.
## Doyle struggling since trade
Brenton Doyle is hitting just .207/.207/.328 with 20 strikeouts in 58 at-bats since arriving from Colorado. He'll start in center field Tuesday.
## Montgomery gets much-needed rest
Colson Montgomery sits after a horrible stretch both offensively and defensively. Kyle Teel also gets the day off, with Jake Rogers and Luisangel Acuña starting.
## Peters rewarded after epic at-bat
Tristan Peters starts in right field after his 18-pitch at-bat that saved the season Monday. Braden Montgomery also sits as Chicago loads up with righties.
## Murphy opens for White Sox
Chris Murphy gets the ball as opener with a 3.94 ERA in 31 games this season. Davis Martin will likely follow after returning solid from an injured list stint.
## Griffin struggling for Cleveland
The Guardians All-Star has a 5.94 ERA over his last seven games. In his last outing against Baltimore, Griffin lasted just 2.1 innings and gave up eight runs.

> In his last outing against the Baltimore Orioles, Griffin went just 2.1 innings, giving up eight runs.
## Key takeaway

The White Sox are giving struggling players Colson Montgomery and Kyle Teel a day off while loading up with right-handed hitters against a lefty pitcher.
