## Whoop tracks more than standard fitness bands
Whoop's bracelet-style trackers deliver comprehensive activity tracking and biometric data, plus advanced sleep and health monitoring. The AI-enabled service has evolved significantly since Whoop 3.0.
## Whoop is expensive but popular with elite athletes
For most people, Whoop feels like an overinvestment due to its tiered subscription model. It's particularly popular among elite athletes and biohacking enthusiasts who value gamified health tracking.
## Start with one month free
New customers get a free one-month Peak membership trial with a pre-owned Whoop 5.0 device and charger. After the trial, membership renews at $239 per year unless canceled.
## Earn free months through referrals
Whoop's referral program gives you one month of membership credit for each friend you refer. Your friend also gets one free month when they join.
## Military and first responders save 10%
Active and retired military members and first responders get 10% off Peak ($239/year) and Life ($359/year) memberships. Verify your status through ID.me to receive the discount code.
## Students unlock 10% discount
Students can save 10% on Peak, Life, and One memberships. Verify your student status through StudentBeans to get the promo code.
## Gift cards in multiple denominations
Whoop gift cards come in amounts from $25 to $1,000 and are delivered by email. They're a thoughtful alternative to buying a device outright since you don't have to choose the membership and band.
## Family plans reduce per-person costs
Whoop Family Plans support two to six people with a single annual bill instead of individual fees. Each member gets their own device, app access, complimentary band, and 14-day charger.
## Advanced Labs blood work integration
Whoop now offers Advanced Labs blood work across 122 biomarkers with no subscription required. Schedule tests at over 2,000 Quest locations and get a personalized action plan from a clinician.
## Band packs are 15% off right now
Whoop band packs offer multiple styles and colors at 15% off. They're ideal for family plan members or anyone who wants to swap bands to match their outfit.
## Key takeaway

Whoop offers multiple ways to reduce the cost of its expensive subscription service, from free trials to referral programs and group plans.
