## ZuckOff app launched
ZuckOff is a free Bluetooth detection app built by Polish developer Pawel Szydlowski that identifies smart glasses in the room.
## Download stats
ZuckOff reportedly downloaded by over 5,000 people on Apple’s App Store in its launch month, with 1,000 downloads on Google Play Store as of writing.
## Meta smart glasses issue
Meta’s smart glasses face scrutiny over unsolicited filming, with schools and cinemas banning their use due to public safety concerns.
## How ZuckOff works
ZuckOff records Bluetooth signals from smart glasses to build digital fingerprints, flagging models like Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Snap Spectacles.
## Recording light problem
The recording indicator light on Meta glasses can be easily defeated with tape, allowing wearers to record without detection.
## Meta’s response
Meta announced an update to detect tampered LED lights and stop filming, despite claims the camera doesn’t look like a camera.
## Key takeaway

ZuckOff app identifies Meta smart glasses in range using Bluetooth signals, helping users avoid unsolicited filming risks.
